Winter sport off the slopes? In the Montafon, we offer a variety of different snowshoes and winter hikes. 150km of marked trails for snowshoe hiking ensure winter fun without the need for skiing. Moreover, 290km of prepared winter hiking trails will guide you through the magical winter wonderland. Untouched deep powder trails or prepared trails, even night trails are waiting for you to explore.

Snowshoe hikes in the deep snow of the Montafon

The snowshoe hike from Latschau to Grabs is 3 hours long. 9 driving minutes away from hotel Zimba you can reach the starting point of the hike. The loop is 6,2 km long and has an altitude of 360m. 

 

The snowshoe hike from the Golm valley stop to Lendi and Mularientsch is 10 minutes away by car. The easy but beautiful hike takes 3 hours and is 8,2 km long. The altitude change is approximately 400 meters. 

 

The snowshoe hike to the sun balcony of the valley Bartholomäberg is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. The start and end of the hike is the hotel Fernblick on 1.110 meters. It is a 12-minute car drive from the hotel Zimba. The hike is 6,9 km long. 

 

Good to know: You can conveniently rent snowshoe at our partner Intersport which is only 1 walking minute away from the hotel

Winter hikes in the middle of the Vorarlberg Alps

Schruns is the ideal place to start a winter hike. Starting at the town center a 3,7 km long hike that takes 1 hour 15 minutes is only 3 walking minutes away from the hotel.

The winter hike starting at the Bartholomäberg church has already a special starting point. Only a 10-minute car drive away you can reach the start and endpoint of this beautiful hike. The hike is 3 hours 40 minutes and takes you to the Fritzensee. The trail is 10,8 km long and the highest point is at 1.500 meters offering a beautiful view over the valley.

The winter hike Latschau to the Lindauer Hütte takes 4 hours and 30 minutes and takes you through the beautiful Gauertal. Taking your car, it is an 11-minute car ride to the starting point at the fire station in Latschau. The hike is 14 km and the return is mainly downhill. Our recommendation is to bring your sled and reduce the return time significantly plus add some extra fun!
