  • After about a 9 minutes’ drive, you will reach the starting point for the snowshoe hike from Latschau to Grabs and back. The 6.2 km long route of moderate difficulty is designed for about 3 hours. Snowshoes can be rented from Intersport in the center of Schruns.
  • From the valley station Golmerbahn, a light snowshoe hike takes you in 3 hours from Vandans via Lendi to Mularientsch. During the 8.2 km long route, you will reach 650 m at 1050 m. The parking of the valley station is about 10 minutes away by car from the Hotel Zimba.

Winter hikes in the Montafon

  • The 3.7 km circular walk around Schruns is ideal for getting to know the surroundings of the Hotel Zimba in the Montafon. The easy tour takes about 1:15 h and starts at the church square in the town center.
  • About 10 minutes away by car is the parish church Bartholomäberg. It is one of the most beautiful baroque churches in Vorarlberg. The medium-difficult winter hike begins here, over Rellseck to Fritzensee. The route is 10.8 km long and requires about 3:40 h. The highest point of the hike is at 1,500 m altitude and offers a great panoramic view.
  • The 14 km long winter hike from Latschau through Gauertal to Lindauer Hütte starts at the fire station in Latschau, about 11 minutes from the hotel. After a short ascent you can choose the path straight ahead over the Volsporaweg, or the one leading into the Gauertalweg. After about 45 minutes, the paths merge again. The entire route is estimated to take 4:30 hours of walking. Since the return route is mainly downhill, the time can be shortened with a sled.
