Cross-country skiing and skating in the Montafon

With around 73 km of classic trails and 21 km of skating trails, the Montafon in Vorarlberg offers winter sports enthusiasts a large selection of trails for cross-country skiing. The trails around Schruns can be used free of charge.

Schrunser Field Trail

Just a 2-minute drive or 9-minute walk from our Hotel Zimba, you can go cross-country skiing or skating right on the Schrunser field trail. Starting point is in Wagenweg in Schruns, from where the 2.9 km long trail with slight up and down leads across the field. After just over 30 minutes you reach the starting point. The difficulty of the cross-country skiing or skating track is easy.

Slopes at the Bielerhöhe

Around 18 minutes away by car, the track, lit until 10 pm, starts in Kreuzgasse in Gaschurn via St. Gallenkirch to Galgenul. The route is 8 km long and of medium difficulty. On this cross-country course now and then paths and road sections must be crossed.

Panroma Trail Kristberg

The village trail Silbertal begins and ends at the Kristbergbahn at the parking lot “Felsa”. The route leads over 3.6 km to the valley station Kapell Bahn and after about 30 minutes back the same way. The difficulty of cross-country skiing is medium. By car you can reach the starting point in about 24 minutes.
