The Montafon is located in the south of Vorarlberg and at the southwest end of Austria. It is surrounded by three powerful mountain ranges. In the northwest part are the prominent lime rocks of the Raetikon, in the south is the Silvretta range, which is partially glacier, and in the north is the Verwall range.

The Montafon valley stretches over 39 km, its 11 villages are 650 to 1.450 m above sea level, surrounded by mountains as high as 3.312 m (Piz Buin). Besides the towns offering a wide selection of outdoor activities, many smaller villages have maintained the flair of a cozy place perfect for family and relaxation.
